GOV. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has pledged his government’s unwavering support to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Buni made the pledge when the newly posted Controller of Corrections to the state, Mr Yusuf Sambo, paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday in Damaturu.

He said the NCoS would be included in the state’s security council for synergy and proper coordination with other security organisations.

In his remarks, Sambo said inclusion of the service in the security council would facilitate intelligence sharing among sister agencies for proactive approach to possible security threats.

He noted that the service had the capacity to stabilise and change criminal behaviour of inmates and make them to become good citizens.

He, therefore, solicited for support and cooperation of the state to enable the Service to discharge its mandate effectively. (NAN)
