Buni lauds INEC over hitch-free conduct of Saturday’s poll

GOV Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the hitch-free conduct of Saturday’s governorship and States Houses of Assembly Elections.
Buni said this shortly after he cast his vote at polling unit 004 Bulturam/Yarimary Ward, Buni-Gari in Gujba Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
“It is very peaceful. I am impressed with level of preparation and the conduct of the process,” he said.
He also thanked Allah for the return of peace in the state after long period of Boko Haram destruction.
“I am highly impressed especially that this is one of the epic centres of insurgency.
“But today you can see it is peaceful, people are happy and come out to cast their votes,” he said.
He urged the voters to continue conducting themselves peacefully throughout the election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buni is seeking for a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). (NAN)
