NIGERIAN youths have been enjoined to embrace proper mentoring as it serves as one of the drivers for positive changes in life.

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State said this at the opening ceremonies of “Master Class, Access More with Stanel’’ sponsored by Stanley Uzochukwu.

“Access More with Stanel’’ is an ongoing business fair on “Nigerian Youth Mentoring, Advocacy and Reorientation Masterclass’’ at Stanel plaza, Awka, a one-stop market for energy products, foods, lifestyles and services.

The governor noted that leadership transcended building structures, roads or social clubs and entails educating the people and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

The governor was represented by his deputy, Nkem Okeke.

A former Senate President, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, listed factors that trigger greatness in the youth as fear of God, hard work, sense of positive anger, sense of avoidable danger and sense of risk.

Sen. Anyim explained that he had a poor family background, but worked hard after university graduation to secure a job, which served as a stepping stone for his political career.

Allen Onyema, a Lawyer and CEO of Air Peace Airlines added that for youths to be successful, they must be open minded, have the ability to shun social vices and focus on ventures that would add value to their lives.

The event was graced by other prominent personalities such as Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, Chief Cosmos Maduka of the Coscharis Group and Chief Chidi Anyaegbu of Chisco Group.

Also in attendance were Dame Virginia Etiaba, a former Governor of Anambra State and Prof. Theresa Obiekezie, the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy.

The event would be rounded off on Feb. 14.
