THE Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Mr Abdullahi Candido, has charged contractors handling projects in the council area to ensure timely completion as scheduled.

The chairman made the call in statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dayo Lawal, while inspecting the Zephaniah Jisalo Secretariat annex in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said that the Annex when completed would accommodate Health; Agriculture and Environment Departments from the old secretariat.

Candido observed that a lot of renovations still needed to be carried out at the Annex to enable it become a functional secretariat.

The chairman urged the council staff posted there to brace up for effective productivity, adding that they should always remain steadfast in ensuring that the office took a proper shape.

He warned against indolence, laziness and absenteeism, noting that any staff found not on sit during working hours would not only be sanctioned, but made to face the wrath of the law.

The council boss also inspected the ongoing construction of Dutse-Garki access road in the council area, where he charged the contractors handling the project to execute according to specification and ensure timely completion.

Candido, while addressing the chiefs and residents of Dutse-Garki community, urged them to cooperate with the contractors handling the road project so as to ensure prompt completion of the work. (NAN)
