The defendant was charged before Magistrate L .K. J. Layeni, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretences and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in June, at the Sabo-Oniba area of Ojo.

He alleged that the defendant obtained the sum of N400,000 from a Lagos-based company, Amain Tech Ltd., with a promise to supply paper cartons to them.

The prosecutor said the defendant failed to supplied the goods, but converted the money to his personal use without the consent of the owner.

The offences contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate Layeni, adjourned the case until Jan. 15, 2025 for mention. (NAN)
