Businessman jailed 3 years for malicious damage to neighbour’s car

AN Area court in Jos on Monday sentenced a 22-year-old businessman Ismail Suleiman to three years imprisonments for damaging his neighbour’s car windscreen.

The judge, Suleiman Lawal sentenced Suleiman. after he pleaded guilty.

He however,  gave him an option of N100, 000 fine .

Lawal also ordered the convict to pay compensation of N100,000 to the complainant or spend another one year in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Monday Dabit told the court that the case was reported by one Ishaq Ishaq at the  Nassarawa Gwong police station on Aug. 4.

The prosecutor said that the convict destroyed the windscreen of the car worth N120,000 without any provocation.

Dabit said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 313 of Plateau Penal Code Law.(NAN)
