A businesswoman, Mrs Omoni Ebi, on Thursday dragged her husband, Edukwu, before a customary court in Jikwoyi Abuja, over alleged battery and causing spinal cord  injury  on her brother.

Ebi, who resides on Abacha road in Mararaba, Abuja in her divorce petition said:”I can’t continue to live under the same roof with this man. He is very violent.

“I have been subjected to domestic abuse, threat to my life. On March 19, 2019, I called my brother, Mr Lawrence Monday, to come  to my aid because my husband was beating me.

”When he arrived, my husband turned on him and beat him up thoroughly resulting in a permanent damage to his spinal cord”.

She told the court that her brother has spent over N5million to fix his spinal cord, all to no avail.

She begged the court to dissolve her marriage and grant her custody of the two children.

In his response, Edukwu, who is a businessman denied the allegations.

The presiding judge, Labara Gusau, however adjourned the matter until Sept. 21 for further hearing (NAN)
