TWO goal hero in Kwara United FC’s 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup First leg, First Round match against ÀS Douanes of Niger Republic, Wasiu Jimoh, has hailed the total display of his team, hoping that the team will build on the victory in Niamey next week.

Jimoh told newsmen after the match that his target was to score an hat-trick in the game because he was full of confidence going into the match.

“My target was to score hat-trick, but I eventually scored two. To me, it was a good performance from the team, but we would need to work more harder and take our chances in Niger.

“I have no preferred position on the pitch. The most important thing is, if I am on the pitch, I always put in my best.

“In Niger Republic, people should not expect much from me, but from the team collectively.

“The most important thing is to utilise our chances. They should expect positive result. The target was to qualify to play in the Group stage of the competition,” Jimoh said.

Another added advantage for Kwara United FC was keeping a clean slate in the match watched by large number of Kwara fans, including Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and his wife, Amb. Olufolake AbdulRazaq.

Meanwhile, club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, has described the match as fantastic, expressing delight that as much as three goals were scored, with no goal conceded.

Titiloye said: “We are going to Niger to win. We would not defend but attack, and we are prepared for whatever hostility they may want to put up on and off the pitch.

“We had only three weeks to prepare for this game, and with time, we will keep getting better.

“I will want to thank Kwara and Lagos States governors for their support, the Sports Commissions of the two states, the FAs of the two states, our fans and supporters, stakeholders and lovers of the club nationwide, for their support.” (NAN)
