THE Christian Association of Nigeria has warned state governments and concerned authorities scheming to stop prayers and assembly devotion in primary and secondary schools across the country to stop and have a rethink, saying such thoughts were “evil and must not prevail.” The association, however, commended Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, for reversing what it described “a wrong directive of an ambitious permanent secretary on this matter” and advised other state governments not be involved in the ungodly directive to learn from the matter.

The association similarly asked for the implementation of the suggestion for the establishment of grazing reserves for Fulani herdsmen in all parts of the country, to avoid “very grave danger to our national peace and security.”

The position of CAN is contained in a communiqué signed by Musa Asake, a reverend and its general secretary, issued to journalists on Sunday, November 8, at the end of its national executive council, NEC, meeting held in Abuja.
