Car dealer docked over alleged N8m car fraud

A car dealer, Oluwole Olujobi, 37, who allegedly defrauded his customer of N8 million on Wednesday appeared in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Olujobi , whose address was not provided with two counts of obtaining money under false pretence and fraudulent conversion.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Opeyemi Olagunju, told the court that Olujobi in 2019, allegedly obtained N8 million from one Seun Babalola, with a promise to sale him two Toyota Camry and three Toyota Corolla vehicles.
He alleged that Olujobi was alleged to have fraudulently converted the N8, 000, 000 to his personal use.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 383, 419 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Olaide Hamzat admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
Hamzat adjourned the case until Sept. 10, for hearing. (NAN)
