The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has uncovered and aborted a highly sophisticated plot by some criminally minded elements to defraud the bank.

A statement signed signed by Isaac Okoroafor, acting director, Corporate Communications, and made available to Realnews on Thursday, March 10, said that “although preliminary investigations so far have not revealed any accomplices within the apex bank, the management has decided to place all key personnel involved in the transaction on suspension to ensure a full and unfettered investigation.

“This incidence has been reported to relevant authorities. The CBN wishes to assure the general public that the security of the bank remains intact,” the statement said.
