THE Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has emphasised the importance of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

Dr Abdullahi Bello, Chairman of CCB, made the call at the maiden graduation ceremony of the Behavioral Insights Network, Transparency, and Accountability (BINTA) project in Abuja on Wednesday.

Bello expressed his excitement about the partnership between the CCB and private partners, acknowledging the support of the MacArthur Foundation.

He believed that the knowledge and insights gained by the BINTA fellows would significantly impact the approach to governance and anti-corruption initiatives in Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the BINTA fellowship, organised by the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) and funded by the MacArthur Foundation, aims to strengthen the capacity of anti-corruption change makers.

“The selection process was highly competitive, attracting applicants from various sectors, with special attention given to female candidates to ensure gender balance and equity,”he said.

Dr Osasuyi Dirisu, Executive Director of PIC, highlighted the importance of leveraging behavioral insights to disrupt the socially normative status of corruption in Nigeria.

Dr Victor Ajieroh, a BINTA Fellow, shared his experience, stating that the fellowship had empowered him with innovative skills to contribute to addressing corruption.

NAN also reports that the event marked the inauguration of 30 BINTA Fellows for capacity strengthening, demonstrating the commitment to combating corruption in Nigeria.(NAN)
