THE Cultural Credibility Development Initiative, CCDI, has lauded the remarkable role Prof. Nnenna Oti, played in ensuring that the actual result of Abia State governorship election was not rigged.

The statement by CCDI commending Prof. Oti reads:
“Prof. Nnenna Oti as vice Chancellor of FUTO was appointed to serve as SCOPE/RETURNING OFFICER in the Anambra Presidential and National Assembly election on 25/02/2023 and gubernatorial/state houses of Assembly elections in Abia state on 18/03/2023 and in both assignments she discharged herself creditably well to the admiration of the global community.
“In both states she was deployed to serve, experienced peace, orderliness and acceptance of election results because as leader of the election process, she refused to compromise on standards, nor accept undue gratifications, nor stooped to change election figures for bribery but insisted on truth, facts and verifiable data and process integrity.*
“Madam VC, Prof Nnenna Oti delivered on credible elections outcome, unrivalled individual competence and heroine gender assertiveness against entrenched male chauvinism that dots election rigging in Nigeria’s political history.*
“Whereas some university Vice Chancellors are busy defending themselves over election malfeasance, inconclusive elections and litigations over disputed declared elections results, Prof Nnenna Oti’s two States service stopovers (Anambra and Abia States) are witnessing exuberant celebrations with a defeated sitting state Governor counseling against litigation of the election results as declared by Prof Nnenna Oti.*
