Chelsea roar back to beat Tottenham 4-3 in London derby

CHELSEA staged a fightback to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 and move clear of Arsenal in second place in the Premier League table on Sunday.
With Liverpool not in action this weekend after their game at Everton was postponed due to a storm, Chelsea’s victory at Spurs lifted them to within four points of Arne Slot’s leaders.
Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski put Tottenham two up inside 11 minutes, but Jadon Sancho quickly pulled one back with a fine strike and the second half belonged to the visitors.
Cole Palmer equalised from the penalty spot in the 61st minute while Enzo Fernandez put Chelsea ahead 12 minutes later.
Palmer then chipped in another spot-kick before Son Heung Min added a very late third for Spurs.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca played down suggestions that the Blues now have to be considered title contenders.
He told Sky Sports: “We are not ready, we are far from these teams, but we are focused on the day-by-day, improve players, improve the team then play the game, no more than that.”
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said: “Look, it’s a sore one, for sure, it’s painful.
“We started the game really well, then we lose Romero. Nothing’s run smoothly for us and we have to reshuffle, and then they get a goal in that moment.
“The second half was a bit of a ding-dong for quite a while. [We need] just a bit more discipline in the box.” (dpa/NAN)
