NOLLYWOOD producer Okonkwo Chijioke Junior is urging his peers to prioritize child-friendly content in their films. With over one hundred movies to his name, Chijioke highlighted how the quest for monetary success often leads producers to neglect fundamental values and long-term impacts.

Chijioke believes that incorporating children’s perspectives in filmmaking promotes sustainability. “Ignoring the ripple effects of our actions may have future repercussions,” he noted. With extensive experience in creating child-sensitive content, he emphasized its worth despite the challenges, adding, “You feel you are making the world a better place.”

As the founder of Bold Line Entertainment and manager of Nollywood teen-star Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo, also known as Adakirikiri, Chijioke reflected on the safety of the future being built for children. He pointed out the unhealthy competition between adults and children, stressing that this should be a central topic during the 2024 Children’s Day celebration.

“Many live for the moment without considering the future, but that is important to me,” Chijioke stated. He criticized the entertainment industry’s focus on trivial topics like body enhancement and quick wealth, which overshadow meaningful discussions. “Who will guide kids on investment, patriotism, and real-life issues? Someone needs to start telling them the truth.”

Chijioke called on his fellow filmmakers to understand their role in shaping a safe future for children. “Even if we don’t have children, someone we know does. An injury to one is an injury to all,” he remarked.

Also known as Cjay, Okonkwo Chijioke Junior started his entertainment career as a music producer. He has produced and executive produced notable films such as Before My Eyes, Identical Difference, and Clare and Clarissa. He continues to champion content that benefits the younger generation.
