Chika Julius Odom, lawyer, politician and administrator, 56, October 19. Born in Okwu Ikeduru, Imo State, he was educated at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Umuahia; Imo State University, now Abia State University, Aturu, 1986. He began his private practice in Aba, before he was appointed special assistant to Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State, in 1999. He served as deputy chief of staff and two time commissioner in the same administration. He became the minister of state for environment, housing and urban development, 2007. He was appointed minister of state in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, in December 2008.
