CHINA is considering building an oversight system for enforcement of administrative laws by cyberspace regulators.

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) on Thursday released new set of rules concerning law enforcement procedures of cyberspace administration departments.

The CAC is soliciting public feedback on the new rules.

The rules aim to ensure law-based duties by cyberspace administration organs protect the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons and other organisations, as well as safeguard national security and public interest.

It mandates Cyberspace administration departments to observe principles of fairness, openness and be subject to public supervision when they impose administrative penalties.

The new rules allow citizens, legal persons, and other organisations to file complaints or reports against administrative penalties imposed on them.

According to the rules, Cyberspace regulators shall make corrections when errors occur in their enforcement. (Xinhua/NAN)
