The prosecutor alleged that the defendant who claimed to be an agent under the State Internal Revenue Service promised to give the complainant and his brother employment as money agents.

Leo stated that the defendant convinced the complainant to give him N1 million to secure employment for them which he did.

Leo added that during the investigation, the defendant confessed to committing the crime, which contravened the provisions of Section 138 of the Penal Code Law Kaduna State 2017.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Benjamin Hassan admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Nov. 23 for hearing. (NAN)
