Religion
A cleric, Rev. Peter Mutong, has urged married couples to always imbibe biblical tenets in their marriages to promote godliness.
He also advised couples to uphold Christ teachings by adhering to biblical oaths and principles in their marriages to ensure better society.
Mutong, a spiritual leader of the 9th batch of the 2022 pilgrimage urged compatriots to pray against incessant dissolution of marriages mostly among young couples.
According to him, most Christian homes are faced with marital challenges due to misplaced priorities.
“This has led to youth restiveness and ills in the society; if the home is not stable, the society and country will be affected.
“For any home to survive in a time like this, it must be ready to surrender all its endeavours to Jesus; therefore, the need for couple to work together in love.
“I challenge you to make your marriage work. Invite Jesus to your home, work together intimately and avoid comparison.”
The cleric further advised couples to always create ample time to pray together to be able to overcome marital obstacles.
NAN reports highpoint of the pilgrims’ tour was prayer for marital peace and visit to the church in Cana, Galilee, where Jesus Christ performed the first miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding.
They also visited the Church of Annunciation, where Angel Gabriel announced to Mary the mother of Jesus that she was conceived of child, and to Mount Tabor, the Church of Transfiguration and River Jordan where John the Baptist baptised Jesus Christ. (NAN)
