PATRICK Okafor, a reverend father and resident at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia, Awka South LGA has urged Christians to seek God’s face in every circumstance.
Okafor while saying this on March 24, during Sunday’s homily at St. Matthew’s Parish, Amawbia, emphasised that God was aware of what one passed through in life.
He noted that God had given out the Lenten season as a sacred time to renew and purify hearts freed from disordered affections; we may hold on to the things that eternally endure.
“Do not have the wicked lust for forbidden things. Be patient with God, and stop complaining as, without cross, there will not be crown.’’
The cleric said that as God ordered Moses to remove his shoes when he encountered Him through the burning bush; and then, Christians remove their shoes to enter the presence of God.
“We wear shoes that hinder us from having personal encounter with God that needed to be removed to be able to encounter Almighty.
“If you decide to follow God, you must be determined not to fall back to your old self,’’ Okafor stressed.
He enjoined Christians to always examine their conscience and be free from sin.
