Africa
THE Civil Society Organization, CLO, has lauded Governor Soludo of Anambra State for doing an on the spot assessments of problems and predicaments of various areas and institutions visited.
CLO Chieftain Vincent Ezekwueme commended his humanitarian disposition and love for education especially his promise to pay third term school fees of 2350 students of Urban Girls Secondary School Fegge Onitsha and to relocate Urban Boys Secondary School Fegge Onitsha to more convenient environment for teaching and learning.
“We passionately appeal to Gov. Soludo to urgently intervene in exorbitant and outrageous school fees charge by Mission Schools handed over to the Churches by the state government.
“Pertinently, if urgent and immediate steps is not taking and implemented the aims of handing over of schools to original owners will be defeated.”
Government pays salaries of teachers, yet the schools charge between #80,000 to #100,000 per term.
According to him, “Most parents cannot afford such exorbitant school fees thereby truncating academics career of many indigents but intelligent students.
“Most pathetic is that most students who will enroll in SSS 1 pays between #350,000 to #400,000 at this unbearable economic predicaments.”
“Most of this parents don’t have access to government and don’t know whom to complain to hence we patriotically draw the attention of His excellency for prompt positive actions and interventions .
“This will certainly restore people’s hope, faith and confidence in government and rekindled people’s trust that we have government that harken to our cries, problems and predicaments”, CLO posited.
