CIVIL Liberties Organization CLO Anambra State branch has lauded and extolled Anambra State governor Professor Chukwumah Soludo for his humanitarian and compassionate disposition for approving N2million to Onitsha based couple, Tobechukwu Amaechi, who gave birth to a set of quintuplets at Life International Hospital, Awka, on March 29.
In a press statement issued to newsmen endorsed by Vincent Ezekwueme chairman and Chidi Mbah, Secretary, respectively, themed: “the essence of government is for greater happiness of the greater number of citizens” thanks the governor for his believe in the assertion of St Mother Theresa of Calcutta that one has not lived unless he lived for others.
The good gesture will not only ensure proper upkeep of the babies,it will be bring sucour,relief, comfort and joy to the couple and family.
It will be recall that few years ago a couple delivered triplets at hospital based in Onitsha.
When they approached CLO for help, we wrote a letter to both government, ministry for women and children affairs and some political office holders to help for payment of hospital bill of N625,000 but they did not as they claimed there is paucity of fund.
To the glory of God used Toney Umeh, managing director of Tony Nwa Umeh Petroleum to pay the hospital bills and he also gave them huge amount for upkeep of the newborn babies.
For governor Professor Chukwumah Soludo to come to the aid of the couple out of his love and conviction that the couple and the newborn babies deserved help and comfort is a clear indication of his believe in the wise assertion of Renowned John Holmes that the only good motive in life is the motive of doing good for ones country and her citizens.
Similarly, CLO commends member representing Aguata Federal Constituency in Federal House of Representatives, Chukwumah Umeoji for donating Hiace 14 seater bus to Umuchu Special Secondary School despite his tenure is petering out in less than two months.
Such good gesture is a clear indication that he is fanatic when it comes to the welfare of the people.
