THE leadership of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the apex socio-political group in the South East geo-political zone commend Oluchi Okala, who hails from Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, for graduating with First Class Honours from the faculty of law of the Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, and repeated the same feat at the Nigerian Law School.
A statement signed by Goodluck Egwu Ibem, President General of the group, noted that by this academic excellence, she has indeed made Abia State and South East proud. We applaud her outstanding performance and we urge her to keep it up.
“For her to have graduated with First Class Honours from ABSU and repeated the same feat at the Nigerian Law School clearly shows that she worked hard to earn the grade. Oluchi’s academic attainment depicts that Abia State University Uturu is one of the best Universities in Africa.
“We commend the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, Professor Uchenna Eleazer Ikonne, for repositioning the University to meet up with the standards of the best Universities in Africa,” the group said.
According to the statement, the feat attained by Oluchi Okala clearly shows that the VC of the institution has done an excellent job to reposition the University for academic excellence.
The group thanked the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, for the automatic employment given to Oluchi and the cash reward of N1 million to appreciate her academic excellence.
They noted that the good gesture of the governor will motivate other students to read and take their studies serious. “It takes an academia, who understands the importance of quality education and the role education plays in nation building to do what the governor has just done.
“We call on other students, who are studying in ABSU and other higher institutions of learning in Abia State to emulate Oluchi Okala and bring honour to themselves, their family, state and the nation.
