THE Sokoto State Commission of Inquiry has issued a directive to the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Ali Kaigama, to apprehend and present Alhaji Abubakar Chika-Dantama, the former Chairman of Silame Local Government Area by Saturday.

Justice Mu’azu Pindiga, leader of  the commission, issued the order during its session on Monday, citing Chika-Dantama’s failure to comply with the summons to testify and address certain matters.

Pindiga also mandated Alhaji Bello Buba, former Chairman of Wamakko LGA, to appear before the commission on Saturday.

Addressing newsmen, Mr Amanzi Amanzi, Counsel to the Commission, explained that the arrest was authorized under Section 8, Subsection 2, as a consequence of the former chairman’s non-compliance.

“The former chairman of Wamakko LGA also failed to appear but communicated his absence.

“Nevertheless, the commission has directed him to appear on Saturday to avoid arrest,” he elaborated.

Amanzi further revealed that the former Governor of the state, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal (PDP-Sokoto), has been scheduled to appear before the commission on Tuesday to address certain matters concerning his administration.

He emphasized that all the individuals appearing before the commission would do so solely as witnesses. (NAN)
