Commissioner sponsors medical outreach for 3,000 people in Kano

THE Kano state Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf  Kofarmata, has sponsored medical outreach for over 3,000 residents of Kano metropolitan city.

This is contained in a statement by the Chief Information Officer of the Ministry, Sunusi Kofar Naisa, on Monday in Kano.

Kofarmata supervised the programme held on Sunday at Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani Mosque, and said that the beneficiaries were residents of Kofar Mata community and its neighbourhood.

Speaking at the programme, Kofarmata said the essence of the programme was to alleviate the current hardship faced by the people, especially in the healthcare sector.

He called on the people to use the medications according to prescriptions and promised to lend more support to the needy.

Kofarmata further disclosed that the programme was part of the events marking the first 100 days in office of Gov. Abba Yusuf, and urged the people to offer prayers for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the progress and development of the state.

“I initiated the programme to celebrate His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for clocking a successful 100 days in office,” the Commissioner added.

During the programme, medical consultants offered various services to the beneficiaries that included medical check-up, diagnosis and free medication.

Two beneficiaries of the programme, Malam Abubakar Isa and Hajiya Zainab Muhammad of Kofar Mata quarters, commended the Commissioner for initiating the scheme which they described as timely.

They expressed joy over the kind gesture and expressed their continue cooperation and loyalty to Gov. Yusuf’s administration.

They also appealed to other political office holders and the well-to-do in the society to emulate the good gesture of Dr. Kofarmata. (NAN)
