Company in charge of INEC’s IReV server also works for the American military – LP chieftain
Politics
A few hours ago, a prominent chieftain of the Labour Party, Mr. Katch Ononuju, came out to dismiss claims put forward by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicating that there were technical glitches that prevented it from transmitting election results from polling units to its Results Viewing portal (IReV) server in real-time.
During an interview on PLUS TV’s ‘Plus Politics’ a few hours ago, Ononuju, who is the Personal Adviser to Peter Gregory Obi on Public Affairs, revealed that the company that was employed by INEC to host its IReV server online is also providing the same services to the United States Military.
Going further, Ononuju alleged that when the company’s management was contacted by the Labour Party, it insisted that no glitches were recorded on the IReV during and after the presidential election.
He said; “We have been able to get access to the host company in charge of INEC’s IReV server. It is known as Amazon Web Services. This company provides the same services for the United States Department of Defence or the US military as it were. Of cause, we all know that the Pentagon will not patronize the services of a company that cannot surmount the kind of issues that INEC claimed their servers had on Election Day.
Amazon said that nobody hacked into the INEC server before, during, and after the presidential election that took place on February 25, 2023. They said the server worked well throughout the electoral process. Therefore, INEC’s claim that there were issues with the IReV portal is not true. – Ngdailynews
