Completion of Marine, Akpaka G.R.A, Federal Housing to 3-3 roads: Anambra Assembly commend Soludo

ANAMBTRA State House of Assembly has commended the State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for the completion of Marine, Akpaka G.R.A., and Federal Housing to 3-3 express roads.

The motion for the commendation came following a motion sponsored by the member representing Onitsha North 2, Hon. Patrick Okafor and was seconded by Hon. Patrick Udoba, member representing Anambra West during plenary of February 27, 2024.

Leading the debate Hon. Okafor emphasized the significance of these roads due to their high traffic volume, connection to and from Onitsha and various estates.

He recalled the governor’s campaign promise on the construction of these roads.

The lawmaker highlighted the positive impact of the road completion and said it has brought relief to Onitsha North constituents who are at the receiving  end of traffic gridlock caused by the hitherto poor condition of the roads.

Supporting the motion, the members representing Anaocha 2, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, his Njikoka 2 constituency counterpart, Hon. Jude Akpua and Hon. Obi Nweke, representing Anambra East, praised the governor for delivering on his promises and stressed the economic benefits of the completed roads.

Support for the resolution also came from the member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon. Emma Nwafor and his Nnewi North counterpart, Hon. Augustine Ike who applauded the governor for his commitment to infrastructure development regardless of party affiliation and noting the speed at which road construction projects are being executed.

Deputy Speaker of the House Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, who presided over the plenary, highlighted Governor Soludo’s declaration of a state of emergency on roads, underscoring his leadership as one that transcends political divides.

The resolution was read out by the Deputy Speaker, and it received unanimous support from the lawmakers through a voice vote.
