MAURITIAN Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, will on Sunday launch a National Awareness Campaign on COVID-19 at Côte d’Or National Sports Complex, in the centre of the island.

The campaign comes with focus on the importance of sanitary measures and protocols in the fight against the pandemic.

As at 21 May, 2021, Mauritius had officially registered 1,325 cases (including imported cases) of COVID-19, health authorities indicated on Saturday.

Furthermore, 571 patients considered cured have returned home after receiving the necessary treatment at hospitals, while there are 86 active cases.

Contact tracing exercises and random testing are being carried out in accordance with the established protocol, together with the national COVID-19 vaccination programme in several parts of the island. (PANA/NAN)
