Council gives monthly allowance to 65 indigent students in Adamawa

TONGO Local Government  in Adamawa is giving N10,000 monthly allowance to 65 financially indigent students studying  medical courses at the state’s School of Health Technology in Mubi.

The council Chairman, Malam Suleiman Gangkuba, made this known in an interview with the News
Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  in Yola on Tuesday.

He said that the aim was to reduce the students’  hardships and encourage them to perform well academically.

Gangkuba said that council had processed the admissions for them and paid their  annual tuition and registration fee.

The chairman said that the council was committed to promoting education.

He said that his administration was determined to improve the health sector through financial aids to students  studying medical courses.

The  chairman added that the council would give N10,000 to each of 200 women to empower them to engage in small scale businesses. (NAN)
