THE cowardice of all the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu surrogates and the All Progressive Congress, APC, governors were in complete manifest at the council of state meeting that was held on the 10th of February. Watching the trio of the Governors of Taraba state, Darius Dickson Ishaku, Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo- Olu and the attorney general of the federation brief the press on the outcome must have been very disappointing to Asiwaju. How on earth would the APC governors who were making all the noises and calling for the head of the CBN Governor for  the currency redesign policy now all of sudden start singing praises of the same project.

One could not have imagined the disappointment of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he heard that they are appealing to CBN to make more money available or allow the old currency to coexist. The unanimity of the Council in the endorsement of the currency redesign programme was a big victory for the Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, who have been the target of malicious attacks by the APC and Asiwaju gangs in the past few days.

One would have asked if Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, whose wife is facing charges of money laundering and fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Governor of Zamfara state were present at the meeting or how did their voice got swallowed up by the superior arguments.

The meeting was well attended including three former heads of state General Yakubu Gowon, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former President Goodluck Jonathan. Guess what, the presence of these heavy weights and the charismatic Vice President Yemi Osinbajo may have eclipsed the rogue governors led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and el Rufai.

Again, El-Rufai and his gang of rogue governors were reduced to being boys who they are. Even the Senate president and the speaker of house of Representatives had to request another private meeting with Buhari after the council of state meeting to see if they can make up with the defeat of the agenda they could not push through in the Council of state meeting only for the Senate president to emerge from the meeting with the President to tell Nigerians that the currency redesign program is a good policy.

What a day of misery and losses for the enemies of Nigeria who were sabotaging the currency redesign policy just to make sure that they use the looted money in their possessions to buy votes and manipulate the results of the upcoming election.
