Council organises prayers for peace, stability in Katsina, Nigeria

MAIADU’A Local Government Area in Katsina state has commenced prayer session across its 10 wards for divine intervention over sporadic security breaches in some parts of the state and the nation at large.

Alhaji Ahmed Diddiri, the District head of Maiadu’a,inaugurated the prayer session in Maiadu’a on Wednesday.

He said the current security situation in the country called for constant prayers and supplications for God to deliver the nation.

Diddiri said a 20-man prayer committee, under his supervision, had been set up with mandate to engage all the 48 Friday mosques in the area in a serious prayer.

He expressed optimism that the prayer would lead to lasting peace and stability, in the state in particular and the country.

The district head commended security agencies for their untiring efforts in ensuring peace and stability in Nigeria.

“We need to repent and obey God and our leaders, to achieve a peaceful and prosperous nation,’’ he said.

Diddiri also lauded the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, for his commitment and determination toward promoting peace in the area and beyond.

The district head promised that he would continue to intensify efforts in community policing.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the mandatory prayer session would be conducted across the five local government areas of Baure, Daura, Maiadua, Sandamu and Zango. (NAN)
