Court grants woman divorce over husband’s desertion

A Jos Central Area Court, sitting in Kasuwan Nama, on Tuesday, granted Margaret Ibrahim divorce on grounds that her husband, Samuel, abandoned her for seven years.

Delivering judgment, the presiding Judges, Mr Ghazali Adam and Hyacinth Dolnanan granted the divorce to Ibrahim with effect from March 23,

Earlier, Ibrahim told the court that  Samuel abandoned her seven years ago,.

The petitioner said that the marriage respondent has not contacted her since he left and all efforts by her family to find him had proved unsuccessful.

She said that she was, therefore, at the court to seek the dissolution of her marriage to the respondent. (NAN)
