A Shari’a Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna on Thursday granted a prayer by Farida Muhammad for divorce on grounds that her husband, Ahmed Muhammad abandoned her for 11 months.

The judge, Alhaji Murtala Nasir, gave the ruling after two witnesses related to Ahmed confirmed that he abandoned his wife for 11 months and they had no idea where the defendant was.

Earlier, Muhammad, a mother of three, said her husband left her and their children with no food and contact.

She said all efforts made by her to know Ahmed’s whereabouts failed.

Farida prayed the court to dissolve the marriage. (NAN)
