Court jails teenager 4 months for stealing coolers in Ogun

AN Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Thursday sentenced an 18-year old man, Peter Ogunbiyi, to four months imprisonment for stealing coolers, window burglary proof metals and aluminium glass worth N200,000.

Ogunbiyi, whose address was not provided, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft.

In her ruling, Magistrate A.O.Adeyemi sentenced him without any option of fine.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offence on Oct.14 at about 4.00 a.m. at Oloko, Obasanjo area, Ota.

Adaraloye said that the convict broke into the house of Sarah Olayemi and stole a window burglary-proof metals, aluminium window glass  and  coolers worth N200,000.

He said that the offences contravened the provisions of sections 390 (9) and 411(2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006. (NAN)
