Court orders Roda Ventures Plc to open defence Jan.24

THE National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Friday fixed Jan.24 2018, for Roda Commercial Ventures Plc, to open its defence in the suit instituted against it by a former employee, Radwan Hamoud.

Hamoud, whose appointment was allegedly terminated on May12, 2015, is seeking the payment of his arrears of salaries and other benefits since his disengagement.

The judge, Justice Edith Agbakoba, fixed the date after the respondent’s counsel, Mr Liborous Oshoma, concluded the cross examination of the claimant.

The court, by consent of parties adjourned the suit until Jan.24 for the respondent to open its case.

The claimant is asking the court to order the company to pay his one month salary arrears and other benefits for the three years he worked for the company.

The claimant, who is also seeking for damages, had told the court to use his witness statement on oath as his evidence in the suit.

The claimant was represented in court by his counsel Mr Charles Chimezie. (NAN)
