An Osogbo Chief Magistrates ‘ Court in Osun on Tuesday ordered the remand of two brothers, Adeniyi, 27,  and Adebayo Omotosho,24, be remanded in an Ilesa Correctional Centre, for alleged armed robbery. The police charged the brothers with conspiracy and armed robbery.

Magistrate Mary Ayodele did not take the pleas of the brothers, because the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

Ayodele ordered the police to return the case file to the Osun Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. She adjourned the case until Dec. 8 for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP John Idoko earlier told the court that the brothers committed the offence on Oct. 24, at about 9 a.m., at the GRA Osogbo.

Idoko said the Omotoshos, armed with dangerous weapons, attacked a housewife, Habeebat Bashir and stole a Plasma Tv, Photocopying Machines, Pando yam engine, and other expensive valuables.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 1 (1)(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap R11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. (NAN)
