A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife has ordered the remand of a 26-year-old man, Tersugh Dula, in a correctional centre over alleged mobile phone theft.

The prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court on Wednesday that the defendant committed the offence on May 27 at about 9.00 a.m. along Oke-Odo village, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said the defendant stole a N110,000 worth of Infinix Smart 7 android phone, belonging to one Ademola Adereti.

He added that Dula, thus, committed an offence contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Sections 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.

Meanwhile, the defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the allegation against him.

The magistrate, Abosede Sarumi, adjourned the case to Dec. 16 for the presentation of facts by the prosecution.

She, subsequently, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Kosere Correctional Centre, Ile-Ife. (NAN)
