Court remands 3 over alleged attempt to kidnap

AN Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday remanded three suspects, Sheu Babuga, 20, Bunbe Densi, and Sanda Ali, 19, in a correctional facility in Ibadan, over an alleged attempt to kidnap.
The trio whose addresses were not provided were charged with conspiracy and attempt to kidnap.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair did not take the plea of the defendants for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 30, for mention.
The prosecutor, Insp Oladejo Balogun told the court that the defendants committed the offences on June 19, at about 10.30 a.m, at Olooro village, via Sepeteri-Ibadan express road.
Balogun said that the defendants unlawfully attempted to kidnap Azeez Adebaye at the aforementioned road.
He said the offences contravened Section 5 of the Oyo State Kidnapping Prohibition law, 2016. (NAN)
