Court remands man for allegedly pouring hot tea on another

A Sharia Court in Kano State on Friday, ordered that an unemployed man, Usman Abdullahi,  who pleaded guilty  to poring hot tea on another man be remanded in a correction centre.

The police  Abdulahi, who lives in Sani Mainage Quarters  with causing grievous hurt.

The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, who gave the order, ajourned the matter until July 15 for summary trial

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdul Wada told the court that Auwal Isma’il, the complainant  reported the matter at the Fagge police station on June 21.

He alleged that the defendant poured the tea on Isma’il following an altervation in black tea vendor’s shop.

Wada said as a result, complainant sustained burns.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened  the provisions of sections 120 and 158 of the Penal Code..(NAN)
