Court remands man for allegedly robbing a motorcyclist

AN Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Friday remanded a 31-year-old man, Ernest Idenyi, in a correctional facility for allegedly robbing a man of his motorcycle worth N350,000.

The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun, who did not take the plea of Idenyi, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

Olanipekun adjourned the case until April 18 for mention.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of armed robbery.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 11 at about 4.30p.m on Idi-Ayunre Road, Ibadan.

Ibrahim said the defendant attacked a commercial motorcyclist, Mr Daniel Ayuba and robbed him of his motorcycle worth N350,000.

He said that the defendant was apprehended by passers-by and handed over to the police.
