Court remands scavanger for alleged trailer battery theft

A Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday ordered that a 25-year-old sacvanger, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who allegedly stole a trailer battery, should be remanded.
The police charged Abdullahi, a resident of Zuba, with theft but he pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Sulyman Ola, ordered that Abdullahi should be kept in a correctional centre at Suleja until Nov. 15 when the case would be heard.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Chinedu Ogada, told the court that a police patrol team attached to Zuba Police Station arrested the defendant on Aug. 30
Ogada told the court that the patrol team caught the defendant while he was removing the battery from a trailer parked in front of the police station.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 288 of Penal Code (NAN)
