COVID-19: Governor Aminu Tambuwal goes into isolation

AMINU Tambuwal, Sokoto State governor, has gone into isolation after coming in contact with a person who tested positive to coronavirus, COVID-19.

Tambuwal, announced this via his Twitter handle, stating that he had undergone a COVID-19 test, awaiting result.

Realnews reports that the governor is one of top ranking government officials who went into isolation recently.

Yesterday Governor Solomon Lalong of Plateau tested positive to COVID-19 and has gone into self isolation. Before him, Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State last week also tested positive to COVID-19.

There has been an upsurge of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria now. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday confirmed 1,145 new infections, the highest since the pandemic started in the country in March.
