THE Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, has advised officers and men under his command to always exhibit professionalism before, during and after the imminent general elections.

Danmallam gave the advice on Tuesday while addressing senior officers, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Department (HOD) of Enugu State Police Command during a monthly meeting.

He also reminded them on the need to be courteous and civil during the yuletide season; while helping to control traffic if the need arose.

The commissioner, however, applauded the efforts of officers and men at sustenance of peace and security in the state.

He said, ‘‘I appreciate your efforts in crime prevention and detection leading to the peace and security of the state.

‘‘But more still needed to be done as I further expect you all to be professional in the discharge of your duties.

‘‘We have the yuletide as well as electioneering period coming up and we have to be alive to our responsibilities.

‘‘You are not to be partisan and you must involve yourselves with various crime preventive measures in your divisions and departments,’’ he said.
