Cultural group congratulates Sen. Mbata, Wechie for their victories at Ohanaeze election

THE Cultural Credibility development Initiative CCDI, has congratulated two eminent and ebullient sons of Igbo extraction in Rivers state for emerging victorious in the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide elections held on the 10th of January, 2025.
In a statement, the CCDI noted that it is a thing of joy that two prominent sons of Ikwerre clan of Rivers State won the elections as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide by Senator John Azuta Mbata and Livingstone Wechie as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers state chapter.
“Both of you represent the new face of healing and renaissance of NDIGBO in this 21st century.
“As we urge you to see your tasks as collective engagements, magnanimous resolution of dissent, integration of voices of opposition and peace building among the rank and file in a boundary-less Igbo land that stretches from Nsukka in Enugu state to Port Harcourt in Rivers state and from Agbór in Delta state to Abakiliki in Ebonyi state, parts of Cross River, Benue , Kogi ,Bayelsa and Edo states, consultation, communication, consensus, commitment and conciliation must guide your collective decisions for the good of NDIGBO Worldwide.
“Your respective victories in the just concluded Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide elections have presented both of you as the new faces of Igbo healing and unity that must be strengthened by your good deeds, doings and fruitful engagements in fostering unity and progress among the Igbo race in Nigeria and abroad,” the group said.
According to the group, the outcome of these elections have entrusted leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on NDIGBO in Rivers state in exercise of the constitutional provision of leadership rotation amongst the large chunk of Igbo enclaves in the South South, South East and North Central zones
in a full cycle of leadership responsibility.
It noted that the respective victories achieved by both of you have thrust upon you collective responsibilities, selfless and sacrificial leadership, gender integration, demographic sensitivity in aligning all human forces into oneness of purpose and pursuit of peace maka oganiru na odinma Ndigbo Worldwide.
“While the President General implements Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide strategic leadership functions, we expect Barrister Livingstone Wechie as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers state chapter to pursue peaceful reunion of Ndigbo against ingrained identity crises and estate diatribe that has suffocated Ndigbo Worldwide since after the civil war in 1970 by obliterating the issues that divide us and instilling a new agenda of identity oneness of one great IGBO race in Nigeria in line with IGBO ancestral anthropology and cosmological heritage.
“Livingstone Wechie will do well in rebuilding Ndigbo ties in Rivers State with love, cooperation, understanding and genuine engagement in robust Igbo domestic cross cultural relationships aimed at viable, valuable and visionary integration of Ndigbo in Rivers state through good and exemplary leadership.
“We would wish to remember both of you in future as iconic and veritable change agents of the 21st century great leaders that IGBO will be proud of as your election victories have brought IGBO together again to it’s status quo ante as it was in Pre 1966 united IGBO race heritage.
“Cultural Credibility Development Initiative CCDI Platform wish both of you well and pray for God’s wisdom, strength and wellness in your routine activities henceforth as leaders of repute in Igbo land,” it added.
