THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  @ Your Door Campaign Forum has challenged Ekiti State residents not to be intimidated by the show of force of federal might ahead of the gubernatorial polls in the state on Saturday.

This was expressed in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen in Kaduna, on Thursday July 12, 2018.

The statement said that it was worrisome that at a time when bandits were killing innocent Nigerians in several parts of the country,  the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,  bent on rigging the Ekiti polls,  chose to deploy 30,000 security personnel.

“One does not need to wonder why such a deployment to a peaceful state, considering the desperation to rig the polls, using the security presence to scare the PDP supporters from protecting their votes.

“We all know Ekiti is overwhelmingly PDP and the electorate would not be cowed into retreating into their shells,  but would in the spirit of the brave Ekiti people dare the bullets and other forms of intimidation to come out and vote,  protect the votes and put APC and its Federal apparatus to shame, ” it stated.

It said that Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, national coordinator, PDP @ Your Door Campaign Forum, frowned at the harassment and assault the PDP and Governor Ayodele Fayose  suffered in the hands of policemen  on Wednesday,  stressing that instead of scaring them,  it should  be a motivating  factor.

PDP @ Your Door Campaign  Forum said it is optimistic that their party will be  victorious,  a development that will further engender democracy in Nigeria.

“Let’s keep these tyrants away from  Ekiti. We can do this,  we have the numbers,  we have the courage,  we have the future to protect, ” it concluded.
