MALAM Haruna Dangyatin (APC-Miga) has been elected as the Speaker of the 8th Jigawa House of Assembly.
This followed his nomination by Malam Hamza Ibrahim (APC-Malam-Madori) and secondment by Malam Kabir Ibrahim (APC-Birnin Kudu) shortly after the proclamation of the Assembly on Wednesday by the Clerk.
The lawmakers thereafter elected Dangyatin unopposed as the speaker of the House.

Malam Sani Isya (APC-Gumel) was also elected as the deputy speaker, after he was nominated by Mr Aliyu Ahmad (APC-Kirikasamma) and seconded by Mr Lawan Ahmad (APC-Roni).

The new speaker and his deputy were sworn in by the Clerk of the House, Mr Musa Abubakar as provided by the law. (NAN)
