AHMAD Abdulrahman, the new Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, has warned that any police personnel caught or linked to corruption tendencies will be disciplined accordingly.

Abdulrahman gave the warning on Tuesday during his maiden meeting with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) of the command at the state police headquarters, Enugu.

He said that corruption would not be condoned by him as an advocate against corruption with his years of service with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“Any officer or personnel caught or linked with any corrupt tendencies will be made to face the music in line with the Police Act and regulations.

“Corruption debases our integrity. We need to shun it from all angles.

“We have to serve the people by being sincere, dedicated to duty and humble,’’ Abdulrahman said.

The commissioner, who restated his resolve toward improving safety and security in the state, also urged officers and men to be dedicated to duty for a safe and secured Enugu State.

According to him, I am in the state to serve as well as ensure a safe and secured state.

“I will engage relevant stakeholders to reduce the incidences of security worries in our environment and I expect officers to rise up to the occasion and be dedicated to this course.

“We are to take the war to would-be criminals and we will not give them breathing space through our visibility policing,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abdulrahman, who assumed duty on Monday, Sept. 2, took over from CP Sulaiman Balarabe who was redeployed to Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja. (NAN)
