Delta Speaker felicitates Muslim faithful on Eld el Fitr

THE Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Mr Dennis Guwor, has called on Muslim faithful to offer special prayers for unity, peace and progress of the nation as they mark the end of Ramadan fast.

This is contained in a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on  Tuesday in Asaba.

”I  wish the Muslim faithful greater joy as they strive to draw closer to Allah and encourage all to pray always for the progress and unity of the country,” he said.

Guwor, also the National Treasurer Conference of Speakers of States Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, stressed  the need for religious tolerance in the country

The speaker, while congratulating the Muslim faithful on the successful end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, reminded them that the yearly religious event held great significance in Islam.

Guwor (PDP- Warri South West), commended them  for their support toward political stability and good governance in the state and Nigeria.

“As our Muslim brothers and sisters mark the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, I wish to on behalf of my constituents and the entire Delta House of Assembly,  felicitate with them on the spiritual achievements. 

“I am aware that the yearly religious festival involves special prayers, charity, feasting, and spending time with family and friends as the joyous occasion is celebrated to promote unity, compassion, and reflection on the values of Islam.

“I join the faithfuls to express gratitude to Allah and pray with them not to fall short of the essential requirements of Ramadan, including deep spiritual rejuvenation, moral reflection and communal unity amongst others,” he said.

He assured of  the commitment of the legislature to partner with the executive toward achieving accelerated development in the state. (NAN)
