THE Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Mr Dennis Guwor has charged the newly elected State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to drive the agenda of the party.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, on Monday in Asaba, quoted Guwor saying that the new leadership should pursue the agenda because of their dedication, and pedigree in party politics.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chief Solomon Arenyeka emerged the new PDP State Chairman in the Saturday’s State Congress of the party.

Others are Chief Moses Iduh, Deputy Chairman,  and the three Senatorial chairmen-Mr Dan Ossai, Delta North, Mr Anthony Akpomiemie, Delta Central and Prince Emma Amgbadugba, Delta South.

Guwor expressed confidence that Arenyeka and his Executive would bring fresh ideas, energy, and direction to the ruling PDP in the state.

He said, “I congratulate the newly elected leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta.

”This marks a new chapter in our party’s journey, and I am confident that our new leaders will build on the successes of the past while introducing fresh ideas to drive our party forward”.

Guwor assured that as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, he would work with the new exco to achieve the desired goals.

“We will work together to strengthen our party, promote development in the state and ensure the continued prosperity of Delta State,” Guwor said.

He congratulated the leader of the party and Governor of the state, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori for the peaceful and democratic process, adding that Delta remained a strong hold of the PDP.
