Delta Waste Management Board tasks residents on registration
Environment
THE Delta Government says it will continue to enforce laws on residents to register with the Private Sector Participation (PSPs) in their areas to rid the state of waste.
The board Chairman, Chinye Bazim, spoke at the team’s enforcement exercise on Wednesday in Asaba, the state capital.
Bazim said there was a need for residents and owners of commercial buildings to register with PSPs for appropriate disposal of their refuse or face sanction.
According to him, illegal disposal of refuse will no longer be tolerated by the state government, and all hands must be on deck to stop the trend.
The board’s Director Operations, Mr. Michael Esegba, said the management team and the task force on the environment would continue to put necessary facilities on the ground to end illegal disposal of refuse in the state. (NAN)
